Centro Sans Extra Condensed is part of a larger type system that includes a condensed and a compressed version which all together complement the award-winning Centro Sans Pro type family. It was originally developed for the redesign of the Financial Times Deutschland newspaper in order to offer a strong readable custom font family which managed to retain the serious reputation of the newspaper.

Centro Sans Extra Condensed is part of a larger type system that includes a condensed and a compressed version which all together complement the award-winning Centro Sans Pro type family. It was originally developed for the redesign of the Financial Times Deutschland newspaper in order to offer a strong readable custom font family which managed to retain the serious reputation of the newspaper. Specific versions were developed for headlines, body text, captions and charts. Centro Sans is a type system with distinct personality which stands out at large sizes. It does not attract any unnecessary attention at small sizes but it still gives you the essence of a very clean, expressive, legible and modern set of typefaces which makes it an ideal choice for newspapers, magazines and corporate applications. Centro Sans Extra Condensed comes with 16 styles including true-italics, whereas the Centro Sans type system offers a comprehensive range of 66 font variations.

Available Font Formats

Currently we offer the following font formats for immediate download after purchasing.
Desktop (otf) for all desktop applications with a standard license for 5 workstations. Additional licensing may be purchased at checkout.
Webfonts. The webfont package includes woff, eot and svg files linked via the @font-face technology. They are purchased once -with no time limitation- based on your estimated website traffic. Our standard license starts at 500,000 pageviews/month. Additional license may be purchased at checkout. We offer 2 hosting options: Self-hosting directly on the licensee’s own server and Typekit hosting (available soon) i.e. hosting through your Typekit account.
Mobile App. Fonts may be embedded in iOS, Android and Windows apps. Basic license covers one app on multiple platforms for one year. Licensing for additional years as well as a perpetual license may be purchased at checkout.
ePublication. Fonts may be embedded in electronic publications such as eBooks, eMagazines and eNewspapers. Basic license covers one title for one year. Licensing for additional years as well as a perpetual license may be purchased at checkout.
